Transfer Path: A.A. to B.A. in Special Education

Description of Agreement

Oakton College students are required to complete an Associate’s degree and meet Elmhurst University admission requirements. Elmhurst gives preference to students with cumulative minimum grade-point averages of 2.50 for college admission.
The School of Education requires a separate application process including letters of recommendation, a personal essay, an Illinois State Police background/fingerprint check, and a cumulative minimum 2.75-grade point average to be considered for admission into the Special Education Licensure program.
Students may transfer up to 70 credits, including the 21 hours of Special Education related course credits that could be applied toward the requirements for a B.A. in Special Education Degree from Elmhurst University.
